PUGANTENG AUSTRALIAN, NATUNTON NG BI SA BGC

Arestado sa Bureau of Immigration-Fugitive Search Unit (BI- FSU) ang 51-anyos na Australian national na si Rishi Levi, na diumano ay subject ng isang Interpol Red Notice, sa isinagawang operasyon sa Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig City nitong September 9, 2026.

Ayon kay FSU Chief Rendel Ryan Sy, ang pagdakip ay alinsunod sa mission order na may petsang September 8, 2026 at sa pakikipag-ugnayan sa PNP-Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (PNP-IG), Highway Patrol Group (HPG) at Taguig City Police Station.

Napag-alaman kay Sy na si Leviay ‘wanted’ ng Indian authorities kaugnay ng mga kasong may criminal conspiracy at subject din ng Interpol Red Notice batay sa arrest warrant na inisyu ng Honorable Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Rouse Avenue District Courts, New Delhi, India, noong November 28, 2024.

Ani Sy, “Levi allegedly facilitated fictitious merchant trade transactions that diverted bank funds,” ayon sa impormasyon mula sa Indian authorities.

Kumita umano si Levi ng USD 430,000 sa personal commissions mula sa mga transactions, na nagbunga umano sa pagkawala ng INR 2.49 billion ng National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED).

“Initial verification of BI records showed that Levi last entered the Philippines on January 4, 2026 and following his apprehension, Levi was turned over to the BI Warden’s Facility in Taguig City and will face deportation proceedings. The operation forms part of the BI’s continuing efforts to locate and apprehend foreign nationals wanted by authorities in other countries and strictly enforce Philippine immigration laws, consistent with the directive of President Ferdinand R.
