BI PERSONNEL AT OFFICIALS, GINAWARAN NG AWARDS SA 86TH ANNIVERSARY NG BUREAU

Ginawaran ng pagkilala ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang ilang opisyal at personnel mula sa iba’t-ibang tanggapan at international ports sa buong bansa, para sa kanilang kapuri-puring pagganap sa tungkulin.
Ayon kay BI deputy spokesman Melvin Mabulac, ang pagkilala ay ibinigay kasabay ng pagdiriwan ng 86th founding anniversary celebration ng BI na ginanap nitong nakalipas na Biyernes, September 11 sa bagong BI Building sa Central Business Park 1-A, Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard, Pasay City.
Aniya, ang awards ay ibinigay sa iba’t-ibang kategorya, kasama na ang ‘posthumous recognition’ para sa mga personnel na ang serbisyo ay patuloy na kinikilala ng BI.
“The BI’s 86th anniversary underscored its continuing transformation into a modern border management institution—one that facilitates legitimate travel while strengthening its fundamental mandate to protect the country’s borders and national security,” ani Mabulac.
Si Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Fredderick Vida ang guest of honor and speaker sa nasabing okasyon, na dinaluhan din ng mga opisyal ng BI gaya nina Jun Manahan na hepe ng BI-intelligence division at Deputy Commissioner Teody Pascual.
Ayon kay Mabulac, ang okasyon ay “marked by a renewed push to modernize immigration services, strengthen border security and keep pace with evolving threats to national security.”
” As an attached agency of the DOJ, the BI continues to advance reforms aligned with the administration’s digital transformation agenda and President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s directive to accelerate the digitization and modernization of government operations” dagdag pa ni Vida.
Binigyang-diin din ni Vida ang aniya ay “growing complexity of threats facing the country’s borders, including transnational organized crime, human trafficking, terrorism, illegal recruitment, document fraud, identity theft, and other forms of cross-border criminality.”
“Criminal networks do not respect territorial boundaries; our response therefore must equally be sophisticated, coordinated and forward-looking. Modernization is no longer an option. It is an imperative. Border management must keep pace with emerging threats while ensuring that legitimate travelers continue to experience efficient and secure immigration processes,” saad pa nito.
