Robin naghain ng Senate resolution para ipa-dismiss ang impeachment proceedings vs VP Sara

NAGHAIN kahapon ng resolusyon si Senador Robinhood “Robin” C. Padilla na nagdedeklarang “terminated” o tapos na ang impeachment proceedings laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio.

Sa Senate Resolution 1371, ipinunto ni Padilla na mag-a-adjourn sine die sa Biyernes, ika-13 ng Hunyo ang Kongreso, at lahat na proceedings nito ay matatapos na.

“The Articles of Impeachment against Vice-President Sara Zimmerman Duterte is one such pending matter, and the consideration thereof is one such pending proceeding,” ani Padilla.

“From all the foregoing, it is indubitably clear that the matter of the Articles of Impeachment against Vice-President Sara Zimmerman Duterte and its consideration by the present Senate cannot be fully accomplished by the expiration of the Nineteenth Congress on 30 June 2025, thereby resulting in its termination,” sabi pa niya.

Dahil dito, binanggit ni Padilla na ang mga articles of impeachment laban sa Bise Presidente na transmitted ng Kamara sa Senado noong Pebrero 5 ay dapat “declared as terminated” alinsunod sa Rule XLIV ng Rules of the Senate.

Ayon din sa resolusyon, dapat ipaalam ito ng Senate secretary sa Kamara at sa Bise Presidente. (Mylene Alfonso)
