Prince Cup, King’s Gold Cup tatakbo sa Hulyo 20

BINUKSAN ng Metro Manila Turf Club Inc. (MMTCI) ang kanilang pinto para sa imported thoroughbreds sa ilulunsad na first leg ng Prince Cup at King’s Gold Cup sa Malvar, Batangas sa Hulyo 20.

Inanunsyo ni Philippine Racing Commission chairman Reli de Leon at MMTCI racing manager Rondy Prado sa ginanap na Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum sa conference hall ng Rizal Memorial Sports Complex kahapon Martes.

“The Prince Cup and King’s Golf Cup will be a Triple Crown event with the first leg happening on July 20. This is the first time that Philracom and MMTCI are holding such event exclusively for imported horses,” Wika ni De Leon, at ang second leg ay nakatakda sa Agosto 17 at ang third sa Setyembre 14 dito rin sa MMTCI.

Sinabi ni Prado na may total cash pot na P5.5 million bawat leg sa parehong races ang nakataya.Ang first leg ay may distansyang 1,200 meters, ang second 1,400 meters at ang third 1,600 meters. Magkakaroon ng eight to 10 entries sa bawat karera.

“After the pandemic, we recorded an influx of imported horses being brought in from Australia, Europe, the United States, Japan and the Middle East. These horses cost from P5 million to P7 million each with freight cost alone amounting to at least P1 million per horse,” dagdag ni De Leon sa forum.

Ang event ay layunin na pahusayin ang Pagiging mapagkumpitensya at stature ng imported racehorses sa bansa.
