DALAWANG JAPANESE FUGITIVES HULI SA PASAY CITY SA KASONG FRAUD

Dinakip ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang dalawang Japanese nationals na ‘wanted’ sa kasong fraud sa Japan, sa isang operasyon na isinagwa sa Pasay City.

Ayon kay BI Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) Chief Rendel Ryan Sy, ang operation ay may coordination sa National Police Agency of Japan at nagbunga sa pagkakadakip kina Oi Takumi, 30 at Okada Sho, 27, sa Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City nitong April 28.

Ang dalawa, ayon kay Sy, ay subjects ng a active arrest warrants na inisyu ng Kokura Summary Court sa Japan sa kasong fraud sa ilalim ng Japanese Penal Code.

“Authorities said the suspects allegedly conspired to carry out a financial scam by impersonating law enforcement officers andtheir arrest was carried out following close coordination with Japanese authorities, who also requested the preservation of digital evidence, including mobile phones and computers, to support ongoing investigations,” ayon kay Sy.

Sa Immigration records, ang dalawang Hapon ay huling pumasok sa Pilipinas noong Enero bilang temporary visitors at di sila nag- extend o nag-update ng pananatili, kaya’t sila ay naging overstaying aliens, na naging basehan ng kanilang deportation.

Ang suspects ay mananatili sa BI Warden Facility upang harapin ang deportation case na isinampa laban sa kanila. (JERRY S. TAN/JOJO SADIWA)
