House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” G. Dy III on Tuesday paid tribute to Filipina tennis star Alex Eala following the conclusion of her historic Wimbledon campaign, saying her breakthrough performance has already secured a place in the hearts of Filipinos and signaled even greater achievements ahead.

Although Eala’s Wimbledon journey ended short of the title, Dy said in a social media post that her campaign was a victory in itself, as she continued to elevate Philippine tennis on the global stage and inspire millions of Filipinos.

“Hindi man nagtapos sa panalo ang makasaysayang kampanya mo sa Wimbledon, Alex, panalo ka pa rin sa puso ng bawat Pilipino,” Dy said.

The Speaker said every match Eala played throughout the tournament reflected her determination, resilience, and steady growth as one of the world’s rising tennis stars.
