PUGANTENG AMERIKANO NA WANTED SA SEXUAL ABUSE NG MINOR, ARESTADO SA BI-FSU

Inihayag ng Bureau of Immigration-Fugitive Search Unit (BI-FSU) ang pagkakadakip sa isang 50-anyos na American national na wanted umano sa United States dahil sa sexual abuse ng minor.

Ang US national na kinilalang si Roberto Carlos ay nadakip sa enforcement operation nitong September 10, 2026 sa Camp Tomas Pepito sa Angeles City, Pampanga, kasunod ng request for assistance mula sa US Embassy sa Maynila.

Ayon kay FSU chief Rendel Ryan Sy, “Ramirez is also the subject of an outstanding warrant issued by the Northeast District County of Los Angeles, California, for the felony charge of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Minor.”

Umaksyon umano ang FSU batay sa impormasyon mula sa Diplomatic Security Service–Overseas Criminal Investigations (DSS-OCI) ng U.S. Department of State, sa pamamagitan ng U.S. Embassy sa Manila, na siyang humiling ng tulong ng BI.

“The operation supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to strengthen border security and protect vulnerable sectors from transnational crime, particularly offenses against children,” ani Sy.

Aniya pa, sinabi ng U.S. Embassy na ang US passport ng banyaga ay kanilang ni-revoke.

Sa BI records, si Ramirez ay huling dumating sa bansa noong July 20, 2023, bilang temporary visitor sa ilalim ng Executive Order No. 408 at mula noon ay nag-overstay na ito.

“With an existing derogatory record with the BI and is subject to deportation proceedings, Ramirez is currently detained at the Angeles City Jail, Camp Tomas Pepito, Barangay Sto. Domingo in Angeles City, Pampanga, pending resolution of a case involving alleged violations of Sections 4(a), in relation to Section 6(a), and 11(a)(1) of Republic Act No. 9208, or the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act, as amended by Republic Acts Nos. 10364 and 11862,” ayon kay Sy.

Dagdag pa niya, “the arrest forms part of the BI’s “Shield Kids” campaign, which seeks to prevent the Philippines from becoming a safe haven for fugitives accused of crimes against children. BI’s continued cooperation with foreign law-enforcement and diplomatic authorities is essential to strengthening border security and preventing wanted individuals from evading justice in the Philippines.” (JERRY S.
