HINDI isa, hindi sampu, hindi limampu… isandaang mahigit ang mga fashion designer na mag-aaligaga at mag-aabala para sa mga pasabog na isusuot ni Miss Universe Philippines Rabiya Mateo sa Miss Universe 2020 beauty pageant sa Florida sa Amerika.
Kuwento ni Rabiya sa dinaluhan naming Zoom mediacon nitong Miyerkules ng umaga, May 5 dito sa Pilipinas (Martes ng gabi, May 4 sa Florida, USA kung saan naroroon ngayon si Rabiya)…
“Actually, in relation to my styling, we decided to really tap different designers all over the Philippines.
“Actually, it’s been more than a hundred designers who really helped me in this journey—from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
“Can you imagine how crazy it is? And… we noticed that in the past few years, it’s been the textile, you know, the cloth that is being highlighted.
“And now we wanted to focus on the craftmanship, on the artistry of Filipino designers, that’s why I’d like to assure the pageant fans that they’re gonna see a lot of modern and stylish outfits that is about to come.
“The competition proper, it’s gonna start on May 6. And I’m very much excited for my arrival outfit,” pahayag pa ni Rabiya.
Siyempre, hindi lamang ang mga outfit niya ang inihahanda ni Rabiya para masungkit ang Miss Universe crown…
“As of the moment, I can say, it’s all about what’s gonna be my winning look.
“So, we’ve been preparing and I really need to do it for myself. I’ve been practicing what shade to use, you know. If I’m gonna do my hair up or hair down.
“It’s a little polishing that is about to be done. And I’m confident. I’ve been supervised by the best of the best professionals in the industry.”
Samantala, may payo naman si Shamcey Supsup, Miss Universe 2011 3rd runner-up at ngayon ay national director ng Miss Universe Philippines kay Rabiya.
“She would always remind me to enjoy this journey. Because just like Miss Shamcey, we both share this trait of being competitive.
“And sometimes, we tend to zone out. We just think about the competition and how much we wanted to win. But now, it’s about enjoying and flourishing those moments in which you can build connections to different people all over the globe.”
Samantala, kasama ni Rabiya sa Florida si Jonas Gaffud, ang creative director ng Miss Universe Philippines; si Jonas din ng head ng Empire.PH at Mercator Artist & Model Management.
Nasa Florida rin si Olivia Quido-Co; sa pangalawang pagkakataon ay ang O Skincare And Spa ng Pinay businesswoman at beauty guru na si Olivia (kilala rin bilang Miss O) ang official skincare sponsor ng Miss Universe Organization para sa pageant.
Unang nakipag-partner si Miss O sa Miss Universe noong 2019, kung saan si Miss South Africa Zozibini Tunzi ang nagwaging Miss Universe.
Sa May 16 (sa Amerika) at May 17 (dito sa Pilipinas), tiyak na tututok ang sambayanang Pilipino sa gaganaping 69th Miss Universe beauty pageant.

ENJOY at grateful ang real-life celebrity couple na sina Mikael Daez at Megan Young sa takbo ng kanilang karera sa Kapuso Network.
Sa podcast nina Mikael at Megan, ikinuwento nila ang ilan sa kanilang dream projects at future plans sa GMA-7.
Para kay Megan, bukod sa pagiging aktres ay pinag-iisipan din niya kung maaari rin siyang magtrabaho sa likod ng camera at magsulat ng mga kwento.
“My forecast for GMA is I will still be working with GMA in the future. But, I do wonder if I am going to work as just an actress, just a host, or am I going to take on a different role. Am I still going to be in front of the camera or will I be behind the camera also? Before, I really wanted to become a writer. I wanted to create stories,” ayon kay Megan.
Para naman kay Mikael na enjoy raw ngayon sa pag-arte, open din daw siya na subukan ang iba pang proyekto gaya ng hosting.
Aniya, “And we’ve seen it with so many actors and actresses na they would veer towards more hosting gigs because that’s more regular. And hours will be easier so there will be more times spent with the family. I think the balance of acting and hosting might change or I think it will change.”
Samantala, masusubukan ang husay sa hosting nina Mikael at Megan sa newest musical matchmaking competition ng GMA-7 na Sing For Hearts na sila ang napiling maging hosts ng programa.
