PH umatras sa hockey world championships

HINDI na lalahok ang Pilipinas sa International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Championship Division 4, sa susunod na taon, Anunsyo ng federation at Hockey Philippines.

Sa kalatas ng IIHF December 8, Sinabi ni Hockey Philippines president Christopher Sy na hindi pa pinapayagan ng International Agency Task Force for Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) ang pagbukas ng ice skating rinks sa bansa.

“To date, despite recently allowing the resumption of contact sports under limited conditions, the IATF-EID has yet to allow the reopening of ice skating rinks,” Liham ni Sy “In fact, the Philippine team has not trained on the ice for the last 18 months and counting. Further, the uncertainty brought about by the present challenges of international travel, particularly the constant revisions of travel protocols worldwide, is another important factor we considered in coming up with this difficult decision.”

Ang Pilipinas ay dapat kasali sa IIHF World Championship Division 4 sa March 3-9, 2022 sa Bishkek,Kyrgeztan. Makakalaban nila ang bansa kabilang ang Kuwait,Iran,host Kyrgyzstan,at Souteast Asian Games rivals Malaysia at Singapore.
