Para swimmer Gawilan, 2 iba pa swak sa World Championships

Two-time Asian Para Games champion Ernie Gawilan, Angel Mae Otom at Marco Tinamisan ay kwalipikado para sa World Aquatic Championships na magsisimula sa setyembre 16 hanggang 27 sa Singapore.

Ang tatlo ay kumita ng slots sa panahon ng World Para Swimming (WPS) World Series sa Fuji,Japan nakaraang buwan.

Gawilan, na sumabak sa Tokyo (2020) at Paris (2024) Paralympics, qualified sa S7 men’s 400m freestyle at SM7200m Individual Medley events.

Otom, ang triple gold medalist sa 2022 ASEAN Para Games, naabot ang qualifying times sa women’s 50m freestyle, backstroke, at butterfly, habang si Marco Tinamisan, na lumaki mula sa Quezon, qualified sa S3/SB3/SM3 men’s 50m, 100m at 200m freestyle events.

Ariel Joseph Alegarbes (S14), isa pang triple-gold winner sa 2022 ASEAN Para Games, at Gary Bejino (S6) ay susubukan na ma -qualify sa pamamagitan ng bipartite system.

“This is part of their journey going to the 2028 Paralympic Games in LA. I always tell them, ‘Let’s continue to work hard and support each other to achieve our goal’,” Wika ni head coach Tony Ong sa panayam Huwebes.
