INIHAYAG ng New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) na 34 international airlines sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) ang kontektado na ngayon sa Bureau of Immigration’s Advance Passenger Information System.
Ayon kay NNIC general manager Lito Alvarez, ang hakbang “allows them to transmit flight-related passenger information to immigration authorities ahead of arrivals and departures and the connection brings the country’s main gateway closer to faster and more secure passenger processing. Eleven other airlines have yet to complete full Passenger API connectivity and begin regular transmission of flight-related passenger information, based on updates from the BI.”
Ang NNIC, aniya, ay may ‘full airline compliance’ sa BI requirement na kailangan umano upang suportahan ang “advance passenger screening, improve processing at immigration counters, and help enable the wider use of BI’s immigration e-gates at the airport. The e-gates were procured by NNIC as part of NAIA’s modernization program.”
Inatasan ng BI lahat ng natitirang international airlines na nag-ooperate sa bansa na kumpletuhin ang Passenger API system connectivity at simulan ang regular transmission ng passenger data bago mag-June 30, 2026.
“Full airline participation will help maximize the benefits of automated border control systems, reduce processing times and improve the overall passenger experience at NAIA. It will continue coordinating with the BI, airlines and other airport stakeholders to support faster, safer, and more efficient passenger processing at the country’s main gateway,” dagdag pa niya.
