MISSION POSSIBLE NI BUGNA SA WORLD ULTRAMARATHON, IN THE BAG NA!?

TESTAMENTO ni Pinay ultramarathoner Kristine Berneth “Tin Possible” Drueco-Bugna na walang impossible at kaya niyang makamit ang national ultramarathon record.

Ito’y matapos basagin ang sarili niyang Philippine Women’s 24-hour endurance run record sa oras na 23 hours, 14 minutes at 47 seconds sa loob ng 200 kilometro sa kadaraos lang na 24Hr Bangkok International Championships sa Thailand kung saan binasag rin niya ang sariling record na naitala nitong nakaraang taon sa IAU 24Hr Championships sa Thailand din.

Bunga nito ay nahablot niya ang 1st runner-up finish sa women’s category at 3rd overall pati na ang kampeonato sa women’s 24-hour team championship.

Ayon sa Pinay ultramarathoner na si Bugna, challenging ang pagtahak sa pagtakbo na makaabot sa target na 200 kilometers sa loob ng 24 oras.

“Itong 24-hour ultramarathon, it takes place around the park at ikot-ikot na doon at hanggang sa matapos ang 24 hours, nag-compete ako sa Bangkok at sa race na ito, inikot kami sa isang park na ang sukat ay four kilometers. Ang klase ng ultramarathon ay parang wan-to-sawa.”, sinabi ni Bugna

Kasunod ng tagumpay na ito, nais ng 29-year old pride ng Capas, Tarlac, na ituloy ang kanyang pangarap na makapaglaro sa World Championships.

“That is my ultimate dream and that is a ticket for the World Championships. Its my first time for a Filipina na makatakbo ng 200 kilometers. Na-open pala ang possibilities at kaya na rin ito makamit. Ang naisip ko talaga is yung mga anak na they own witnesses sa bawat training at sa mga chores ko.”, wika niya.

“Ang pinaka-goal ko po talaga in the coming years is to join the World Championships of 24 Hours kasi gusto ko mapataas ang antas ng ultramarathon dito especially for the girls.”

Bago nito, susunod na sasabak si Bugna sa paparating na Milo National Marathon final stage sa Clark NAS.
