“The people deserve better.
The mayor said that once he is given the chance to lead the country in the next six years, he would want each of the country’s 17 regions and 80 provinces to have an OsMa of their own.
“Dating tambakan lang ito. Now if i can build something like this in just two years, pandemic pa, give me more budget and I will build a similar hospital in each of the provinces and regions,” Moreno assured, saying the one done in Manila will serve as his template to offer the same kind of world-class hospital to the rest of the country.
The OsMa is one of the six hospitals being operated by the city government, offering free medical services to the residents of Manila. Each of the six districts in the city has one such hospital where the residents can get free services.
The state-of-the-art Bagong Ospital ng Maynila has a 384-bed capacity, 12 intensive care units and 20 private rooms, as well as other amenities such as the three-storey parking building and a helipad, among others. Its emergency room has 30 beds in all and the entire hospital will be fully-airconditoned once it begins operations in May.
“This is doable in the entire country kasi na-build nga namin ‘yung Ospital ng Maynila in less than two years. So, what happened in Manila, building as much as possible, modesty aside, an upscale type of public hospital that can be duplicated easily and initially to 17 regions simultaneously,” sabi ni Moreno .
