‘P4.5-B INTEL FUND NI PBBM ILAGAY SA SALARY HIKE NG MGA TITSER’

ANG proposed P4.5 billion confidential and intelligence funds ng Tanggapan ni Pangulong “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. para sa taon 2023 ay kasya na para sa salary increase ng 460,000 teachers na kanyang ipinangako noong campaign period, giit ni Kabataan party-list Representative Raoul Manuel nitong Miyerkules.

Ginawa ni Manuel ang statement sa House plenary deliberations sa proposed 2023 budget para sa Office of the President.

“The P4.5 billion confidential funds of the OP can already fund the salary increase of 460,000 teachers which is one of the campaign promises of the President. That is also equivalent to salary increase of 368,000 non-teaching personnel,” diin ng batang mambabatas.

Ang confidential at intelligence funds ay mahigit sa kalahati ng P9 billion proposed budget para sa 2023 ng Tanggapan ng Pangulo, sabi ni Manuel.

Ang halagang ito, ayon kay Manuel, ay sapat na para pondohan ang pagpa-repair ng 6,800 classrooms o pagbili ng 31,200 upuan sa mga paaralan.

Dagdag pa niya, maari rin itong pampondo sa mga sumusunod:
– Hiring ng 9,300 school nurses
– Educational assistance sa 1.56 million students sa ilalim ng Department of Social Welfare and Development
– P10,000 student aid sa bawat isa ng 440,000 learners
– Additional 200,000 Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) program scholars
– Tulong Dunong scholarship program for 294,000 learners ng CHED, at improvement ng 700,000 classrooms para magkaroon ng tamang ventilations.
“These are the reasons why this representation moves to realign these confidential and intelligence funds to fund the needed social services,” paliwanag ni Manuel.

Ang sagot naman ni Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles sa statement na ito ni Manuel ay “no comment.”

Siniguro naman ni Navotas Representative Tobias Tiangco, ang nag-isponsor sa budget ng OP, na ang confidential at intelligence funds ay gagamitin ayon sa batas.

“Rest assured that the funding will be used to facilitate delivery of social services such as the ones cited by our dear colleague, including the budget for the NTF-ELCAC (National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict),” sabi ni Tiangco.

Ang NTF-ELCAC ay supervised ng Presidente, at ang secretariat nito ay sa ilalim ng OP. Nasa P100 million ang allocated para sa NTF-ELCAC secretariat sa ilalim ng 2023 budget.
