BJMP pinasalamatan sa pagkilala sa “Madrasah”, Islamic Educ sa Zambo Jail

Pinasasalamatan ng National Commission for Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) ang hakbangin ng Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) sa pagkilala sa “Mardrasah”, Islamic education, sa loob ng Zamboanga City Jail Male Dormitory kung saan naganap ang kauna-unahan pangkat ng mga nagtapos.

Inihayag naman ni Cultural Affairs Division chief Dalhata Musa ng NCMF Regional Office-IX, ang pagkilala ng kanilang ahensya sa programa ng BJMP, ang ikonsidera ang edukasyon patungkol sa Islam para sa mga nakapiit na Muslim sa nabanggit na piitan.

“To the management of Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, may Allah bless you for this Madrasah and may this be the first of many,” pahayag ni Musa.

“You are giving our Muslim brothers an enormous opportunity to fulfill one of the goals of their religion. Little by little, class by class, knowledge after knowledge, you are changing their lives,” dagdag pa ni Musa.

Sa bilang na 74 graduate, ang pinakamatanda ay nasa edad 61-anyos habang ang pinakabata ay nasa edad 21. Ang naging paksa ng pag-aaral at tinapos ng mga graduate ay mula Tahderiyyah (Arabic alphabet) o ang Al-abjadiyah.

Ayon kay Jail Superintendent Xavier Solda, Zamboanga City Jail Male Dormitory Warden, ang programa na nagsimula noong Hulyo , 2023 ay bahagi ng patuloy na isinasagawang jail management reforms sa loob ng mga piitan.

“Our strong desire for the PDL to continue their Islamic education is anchored on the obligation of the State to protect the right to education of every Filipino while consistently promoting the free exercise of religion,” pahayag ni Solda.

“We envision that through the education programs here in madrasah, we can create a community of compassionate and knowledgeable peacemakers among the PDL under our care,” ayon sa Warden.

Kinilala naman ni BJMP chief Jail Director Ruel Rivera ang Zamboanga City Jail Male Dormitory sa kanilang inisyatibo paramapabilang ang “madrasah” sa piitan bilang bahagi ng programa ng ahensya para sa inclusive education at free exercise of religion.

“We applaud this pioneering initiative of Zamboanga City Jail Male Dormitory which stand as a testament of the bureau’s strong desire toward holistic reformation inside our jail”, pahayag ni Rivera.

“Together with our colleagues and the families of PDL, we celebrate this important journey of our Muslim brothers behind bars toward rehabilitation”, dagdag ng Hepe ng BJMP.

Matapos ang seremonya ng pagtatapos kamakalawa, namahagi naman ang NCMF ng Holy Quran, sejarah or prayer mats, at mga libro sa mga mag-aaral na PDL.(Almar Danguilan)
