Las Piñas City formally welcomed its newly elected officials during an oath-taking ceremony held on Thursday, June 27, at the Las Piñas City Hall. The event was graced by First Lady of the Philippines, Atty. Liza Araneta-Marcos, who served as special guest.
Among those sworn into office were Hon. April Aguilar as Mayor, Hon. Imelda T. Aguilar as Vice Mayor, and Hon. Mark Anthony Santos as Congressman of the lone district of Las Piñas. They were joined by members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod from both District 1 and District 2, including Las Piñas City’s number one councilor, Alelee Aguilar Andanar. The oath-taking was administered by Judge Mildred Jacinto Marquez, First Vice Executive Judge of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 2-FC Las Piñas City.
In her inaugural address, Mayor April Aguilar expressed deep gratitude for the trust of Las Piñeros and committed to serve with transparency and compassion. “This new chapter is not only about continuing what we’ve started. It is about strengthening our foundation and pushing even further toward a city that provides quality health care, accessible and free education, livelihood and employment programs, safe communities, and lasting opportunities for every Las Piñero,” she said.
In support of the city’s continuing progress, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) turned over one Patient Transport Vehicle (PTV) and seven Starlink kits, which will be distributed to various public schools to improve both emergency response and internet connectivity.
Guided by years of experience and a clear commitment to the welfare of its constituents, the new administration envisions a city where essential services are accessible, ensuring a better future for every family in Las Piñas. (JOJO SADIWA)
