NBI sinisilip LGU officials sa ni-raid na scam hubs

INIHAYAG ni National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Melvin Ma-tibag na kanilang iniimbestigahan kung may local government officials na sangkot sa pagbibigay protesyon sa operasyon ng dalawang malaking scam hubs na ni-raid ng NBI kungsaan 230 katao na nagtatrabaho o biktima ang nailigtas at nalikom.
Kasama sa ni-raid ang online lending app operation sa Quezon City, at bigtime scam hub sa Zamboanga, Sibugay.
Ang kanilang modus operandi ay gumagamit ng ‘high technology’ para ma-blackmail ang mga borrower.
Isa pang mode of operation ay pagpapanggap bilang awtoridad, paggamit ng pekeng litrato at pekeng warrants of arrest.
“The operations stemmed from information regarding abuses being committed in the hubs and their use for human trafficking activities. He noted the complicated and extent of operation in the former POGO hubs. Nabbed during the operations were several security guards who were found illegally possessing firearms,” ani Matibag.
