SMC, PINAIGTING ANG TULONG SA MGA BIKTIMA NG BAGYO SA CEBU

Pinalawak pa ng San Miguel Corporation (SMC) ang tulong nito sa mga biktima ng bagyo sa Cebu, kung saan inihayag ni SMC Chairman and CEO Ramon S. Ang na muling magdadala ng tulong ang kompanya sa pagpasok ng Disyembre.

Ang pagbisita ni Ang ay isinagawa isang linggo matapos magpadala ang SMC ng mga employee-volunteers na nagpamahagi naman ng mga relief packs sa Cebu, na tahanan ng SMC operations.

Ang pagbisita ni Ang ay sinabayan ng pagtulong sa mga empleyado at komunidad na tumulong din sa clearing opeartions ng Mahiga Creek na nasa boundary ng Cebu at Mandaue cities.

Nagbigay ang SMC ng karagdagang gift packs sa Barangay Subangdaku, isa sa mga lugar na pinakamalapit sa kanilang planta.

Ayon kay Ang, siya ay nasa Cebu para sa paglulunsad ng “Oplan Kontra Baha: Metro Cebu,” na pinangunahan mismo ni President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. at dinaluhan ngCabinet officials, kasama na ang Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) at mga private sector representatives.

“The multi-agency program will tap SMC’s river rehabilitation expertise under its Better Rivers PH initiative, which has removed millions of tons of waste and silt from river systems in Luzon over the past five years. Specifically, SMC will deploy heavy equipment and personnel to support the cleanup of eight waterways across Cebu City, Mandaue, Talisay, Liloan and Consolacion,” ani Ang.

“The company will apply the same large-scale approach used in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga and Laguna to help restore the rivers’ natural depth, improve flow and ease flooding in low-lying communities — provided at no cost to the government,” pagtitiyak pa ni Ang.
