“We advise passengers carrying musical instruments that do not fit as hand carry items to purchase the Musical Instrument allowance through CEB Special Baggage.”

Ito ang inihayag ng Cebu Pacific (CEB), kasabay ng payo na ang CEB Special Baggage ay maaring bilhin sa initial booking process gamit ang CEB mobile app, matapos maipasok ng mga pasahero ang kanilang personal information.

Ayon kay CEB spokesperson Carmina Romero, “if checking in musical instruments through CEB Special Baggage, passengers must ensure they are placed in hardshell cases to prevent damage. Instruments placed in soft cases or gig bags will not be accepted for check-in.”

Ito ay sa gitna ng social media post ng isang grupo ng musicians na nagreklamong hindi sila pinayagang dalhin sa eroplano ang mga kaha ng kanilang byulin nang lumipad sila palabas ng Maynila kelan lamang.

“Regarding the incident, all passengers with violins were able to board and fly and some violins were able to fit the size limit of 56cm x 36cm x 23cm amd thus allowed onboard. As for the violins that exceeded the limit, CEB advised the passengers to remove the instruments from their cases. The cases were checked through for free and the passengers handcarried the instruments,” aniya..

“We hope this incident sheds light on the need for passengers to check the size limit of bags, instruments or sport equipment that they are bringing with them for their trip. We would like to remind passengers traveling with musical instruments that those exceeding the standard hand-carry size allowance may be accommodated through CEB Special Baggage,” dagdag pa ni Romero.

Ayon sa CEB, maaring bumili ng CEB Special Baggage upang maprotektahan ang “musical instruments during transport, checked-in instruments must be packed in hard-shell cases, while instruments placed in soft cases or gig bags cannot be accepted for check-in, as these do not provide sufficient protection against damage” at aniya “for violins that exceeded the size limit, Romero said CEB’s airport team worked with the passengers to find a practical solution, adding the violin cases were checked in free of charge, while the instruments themselves were carefully hand-carried by the passengers into the cabin.”

“We understand that musical instruments are often valuable and deeply personal belongings. We encourage passengers to review baggage size requirements before traveling so we can help ensure a smooth and comfortable journey for both them and their instruments,” dagdag pa ni Romero.
