Green Archers nabawi ang UAAP basketball crown

MULING nabawi ng De La Salle University ang korona sa UAAP men’s basketball matapos talunin ang University of the Philippines sa iskor na 80-72 sa Game 3 ng Season 88 Finals sa Smart Araneta Coliseum Miyerkules ng gabi.

Nagtagpo ang dalawang koponan sa championship round sa ikatlong sunod na season. Nagwagi ang Green Archers sa Season 86 habang nakuha ng UP ang titulo sa Season 87.

“Our adversities really strengthened our faith. This series is a journey worth remembering. We also have to honor and acknowledge UP for bringing out the best in us, but again, grateful and blessed to win another championship,” Wika ni head coach Topex Robinson matapos makamit ng La Salle ang kanilang 11th UAAP crown.

Graduating Mike Phillips nagtapos ng 25 points at 18 rebounds.

Mason Amos nagdagdag ng 11 points,four assists,three rebounds,at three blocks,habang si Vhoris Marasigan at 10 points at two steals para sa La Salle, na nanguna sa 76-69, 31 ang natitira.

Jacob Cortez may nine points, five rebounds, three assists, at two steals.

Rey Remogat nagdeliver ng 21 points, kabilang ang triple na nagbigay sa Fighting Maroons ng upperhand sa 67-64, 4:09 ang natitira sa fourth quarter.

Remogat, na may three rebounds, two steals at two assists, gumawa ng two free throws para sa UP.

Francis Nnoruka bumakas ng 16 points at 15 rebounds habang si Reyland Torres nagdagdag ng 11 points.

De La Salle nagwagi sa Game 1, 74-70, bago bumawi ang UP sa Game 2, 66-63.
