Ito ang binigyang-diin ni Leyte Representative at dating House Speaker Martin Romualdez at aniya ay nirerespeto niya ang utos ng Sandiganbayan na ilipat siya sa Quezon City Jail.

“I have always said that I will face the charges against me and answer them before the proper court. That has not changed,” ani Romualdez sa kanyang statement.

Dagdag pa niya: “I maintain my innocence. Haharapin ko ang kaso. Sasagutin ko ang mga paratang.”

Nagpasalamat din si Romualdez sa Cardinal Santos Medical Center at Philippine General Hospital at patuloy umano niyang susundin ang payo ng mga doktor. Siya ay nanatili sa nasabing mga ospital bago mailipat sa Quezon City Jail sa Payatas.

Si Romualdez ay na-diagnose na may multi-disciplinary set of chronic cardiovascular, metabolic, neurological at psychological conditions.

Mayroon umano siyang hypertensive atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, history of angioplasty and low-to-moderate annual risk for heart complications; Type 2 diabetes, hypertension (high blood pressure), primary hypothyroidism (low thyroid hormone levels) and dyslipidemia (high cholesterol/fats in the blood); previous stroke (found via MRI scan) with mild chronic blood vessel disease in the brain, severe sleep apnea at major depressive disorder at anxiety.
