PARANQUE CITY — Sa ika-3 sunod na pagkakataon ay nagkampeon si International Master Daniel Maravilla Quizon sa katatapos na 3rd Kamatyas Fide Rated Invitational Rapid Chess Tournament nitong Sabado, Hunyo 25, 2022 na ginanap sa SM Sucat sa Paranaque City.

Nakipaghatian ng puntos ang Dasmariñas City bet Quizon kontra kay International Master Ronald Dableo tungo sa 8.0 points sa 9 outings para makisalo sa unahang puwesto kay Fide Master David Elorta na winasiwas si Fide Master Nelson “Elo” Mariano III.

Nakamit ni Quizon ang titulo dahil sa mas mataas na tie break points kay 2nd place Elorta.

Magkasama sa third hanggang fourth places ay sina Dableo at Kevin Arquero na may tig 7.0 points.

Pasok sa top 10 na may tig 6.5 points ay sina Fide Master Roel Abelgas, International Master Angelo Young, Grandmaster Rogelio “Joey” Antonio Jr., Fide Master Alekhine Nouri, Remark Bartolome at Leonel Escote.

David Almirol Jr., ang 3rd edition Kamatyas Fide Rated Invitational Rapid Chess Tournament ay inorganisa ng Kamatyas Chess Club sa gabay ni International Master Roderick Nava na sanctioned ng National Chess Federation of the Philippines at pinangasiwaan ng Philippine Arbiters Chess Confederation (PACC).

“The event aimed to develop good thinkers through the understanding of chess strategies and tactics, improving the logical abilities and rational thinking and reasoning of the participants, and instilling a sense of self-confidence, self-worth and camaraderie,” sabi ni IM Nava.

Una dito sina Asia’s First Grandmaster Eugene Torre at Yanie Ayesha Estavillo at NCFP chief operating officer Grandmaster Jayson Gonzales at Jeanne Marie Arcinue ay nagsagawa ng ceremonial moves bilang hudyat ng pagbubukas ng one-day tournament na sinaksihan din nina IM Nava, GM Antonio, Tournament Director National Arbiter Byron Gabrentina Villar at Chief Arbiter International Arbiter Reden Cruz.
