Port Operation Division ng BI, binuwag

INANUNSYO nitong Huwebes, Feb. 9, 2023 ni Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Norman Tansingco na binuwag na ang Port Operations Division (POD).

Ang hakbang ayon kay Tansingco ay ginawa matapos na sang-ayunan ni Secretary of Justice (SOJ) Jesus Crispin Remulla ang kanyang rekomendasyon na ma-reorganize at ma-streamline ang operational structure ng airport services.

“This will remove the centralized authority over all airports, as well as empower and exact accountability on the BI airport terminal heads, who are now directly responsible over the operation and management of their respective terminals,” sabi ni Tansingco.

Nabatid kay Tansingco na bago maganap ang reorganization, ang POD ay may masalimuot na organizational system, kung saan ito ay may paulit-ulit at overlapping functions.

Ibinahagi pa ni Tansingco na nakita niya sa kanyang assessment, na magulo ang accountability sa nasabing dibisyon kung saan ang bawat pinuno nito ay kailangang mag-report sa maraming superiors.

“Through this way, we will have a leaner management system, and would be able to pinpoint problems, as well as properly commend those doing a good job,” dagdag pa nito.

Ibinahagi pa ni Tansingco na isinumite nila ang mungkahi sa Department of Justice (DOJ) nitong February 2.

“We are thankful for the support of SOJ in our proposal,” sabi ni Tansingco.
