Hospital occupancy rates sa Regions 3 at 4, tumataas na rin

PATAAS ng pataas ang occupancy rates ng mga pagamutan sa Regions 3 at 4 dahil na rin sa patuloy na surge ng COVID-19 cases sa Metro Manila at mga karatig-lalawigan.

Ayon kay Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Leopoldo Vega, dahil puno na ang mga pagamutan sa Metro Manila, napipilitan ang One Hospital Command Center na i-redirect o i-refer ang mga pasyente mula sa rehiyon sa mga pagamutan sa Regions 3 at 4, kaya’t dumarami na rin ang mga pasyente doon.

Ang One Hospital Command Center ay ang referral system para sa healthcare providers at medical transportation.

“Especially moderate and severe [cases] that cannot be accommodated especially now in Metro Manila, we’d look for a space for them through the One Hospital Command [Center] in Region 3 and Region 4,” ani Vega, sa panayam sa telebisyon. “We’ve also noticed that there’s a spike in those areas, especially in the private institutions and even in the public.”

“The challenge really is we need to have more infrastructure in terms of this kind of pandemic wherein the institutions… are choked, especially with the emergency room and the intensive care unit, in terms of the volume,” aniya pa.

Nabatid na nagtayo na rin ang DOH ng mga modular tents at hospital extensions upang tumulong sa walong pagamutan sa Metro Manila na masyado nang strained dahil sa surge ng COVID-19 cases.

Sinabi rin ni Vega na ang mga panukalang gawin munang health facilities ang ilang hotel ay maaaring makatulong at makakabawas sa impact ng pagdami ng mga kaso ng sakit sa health system.

Hanggang nitong Lunes ng hapon, umaabot na sa 803,398 ang total cases ng COVID-19 sa bansa.

Sa kabuuang 143,726 na active cases, 97.5% ang mild, 1.1% ang asymptomatic, 0.6% ang severe, 0.5% ang critical, at 0.34% ang moderate cases. (Andi Garcia)
