Speaker Romualdez at Tingog Party-List muling nanguna sa pagtulong sa biktima ng baha sa Davao del Norte

Muling pinangunahan nina House Speaker Martin G. Romualdez at ng kanyang kabiyak Tingog Party-List Representative Yedda Marie K. Romualdez kabilang si Rep. Jude Acidre sa pamamahagi ng tulong para sa mga pamilyang biktima ng malawakang pagbaha sa Lalawigan ng Davao del Norte.

Nitong Lunes ng umaga sama-samang nagtulong tulong ang mga volunteers kabilang ang mga staff mula sa tanggapan ng house leaders para sa pamamahagi ng relief goods sa mga munisipalidad ng nasabing lalawigan na labis na naapektuhan ng matinding pagbaha dahil sa walang humpay na pagbuhos ng ulan sa Mindanao.

Bukod sa mga food packs na naglalaman 3 kilong bigas, instant noodles, de-lata at 3-in1 coffee ay nagkaloob din ng P1million cash ang tanggapan ng house leader sa mga munisipalidad na labis na naapektuhan ng kalamidad kung saan ang team mula sa House of Representatives ang siyang personal na nagtungo sa mga Brgys mula sa Tagum City at mga munisipalidad ng New Corella, Asuncion, Kapalong, Carmen at Braulio E. Dujali.

Nabatid na bukod pa sa relief packs na halos umabot sa 1,700 na nagmula sa tanggapan ng magkabiyak na Romualdez ay mayroon pang karagdagang 3,000 family packs na nagmula naman sa tanggapan ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

“This is the least that we can do for our kababayans who were displaced by the floods. Rest assured that we will always be responsive to calls for assistance from disaster-stricken provinces. A little malasakit can go a long way, and we’re here to lend a hand,” Ani Speaker Romualdez.

The distribution of food packs and cash donation were done in coordination with Davao del Norte 2nd District Rep. Alan “Aldu” R. Dujali and Vice Governor De Carlo “Oyo” Uy, who provided the offices of the House officials with a list of recipients.

Speaker Romualdez is congressman of Leyte’s 1st district. Rep. Yedda Romualdez, his wife, is chairperson of the House Committee on Accounts, while Acidre is one of the Deputy Majority Leaders of the House.

Last month, the same offices turned over 1,000 family food packs and 17,650 bottled water to Misamis Occidental after heavy rainfall caused floods and landslides in the province. Cash assistance of P2 million was also given to the province.

Earlier last year, Speaker Romualdez also initiated a fund drive and relief operations to provide assistance to the victims of typhoon “Paeng”. (Cesar Barquilla)
