UP, UE naghari UAAP judo tourney; UST runner-up sa 2 divisions

NASUNGKIT ng University of the Philippines ang tatlo pang gintog medalya para makupo ang men’s title sa University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 86 Judo competition sa Marikina Sports Complex Sabado.

Binalibag ni World grappling champion Fiere Afan ang pambato ng University of Santo Tomas (UST) Edward Figueroa sa lightweight (73kg) final at idinagdag sa kanyang panalo sina featherweight Hyejun Lee (55kg) at extra -lightweight Sean Levyn panganiban (60kg).

Ang Fighting Maroons nakakuha ng 2 gold medals mula sa middleweight Zarchie Garay (90kg) at half-middleweight Jayvee Viron Ferrer (81kg) Huwebes at nagtapos na may 48 points off five golds, three silvers at four bronzes.

Napunta sa UST ang second place na may 30 points (two golds,four silvers at four bronzes) sumunod ang La Salle na may 14 (1-1-4) at Ateneo na may four bronzes.

Sa women’s division, Univesity of the East nakaipon ng 37 points (4-1) para ibulsa ang titulo.
