‘Pag lumabas ang ICC arrest warrant…GOBYERNO ‘DI HAHARANGIN ANG INTERPOL SA PAG-ARESTO KAY DIGONG!

HINDI pipigilan ng gobyerno ng Pilipinas ang Interpol kapag nagsilbi ito ng arrest warrant laban kay dating Presidente Rodrigo Duterte at iba pang respondents na may kaugnayan sa imbestigasyon ng International Criminal Court hinggil sa mga nasawi sa drug war ng nakaraang administrasyon.

“We respect Interpol’s actions 99.9 percent of the time,” sabi ni Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla sa Kapihan forum ng mga reporters na naka-beat sa Department of Justice (DOJ).

Ipinaliwanag niyang trabaho ng Interpol na magsilbi ng arrest warrant ng ICC, at bilang member country ng Interpol, ang Pilipinas ay dapat sumunod.

“If a problem arises, they (ICC) will bring it to Interpol. We are members of Interpol, and we do not block any movement of Interpol unless a policy contradicts our international commitments,” paliwanag ni Remulla.

“The future issue at hand now is that if a warrant of arrest is issued, it’s Interpol’s job to serve it. And we have a duty to Interpol,” dagdag ng Kalihim.

Binanggit ni Remulla na sa ilalim ng ‘principle of comity’, ang gobyerno ng Pilipinas ay hindi maaring pigilan ang Interpol hangga’t hindi ito lumabag sa mga umiiral na batas ng bansa. the country’s laws.

“The principle of comity dictates that we remain friendly and do not block any legal actions they undertake. If they engage in illegal activities, then we will not tolerate that if they violate our laws,” ani Remulla.
