UST’s Labog tagumpay sa Hong Kong chess tourney

NANGIBABAW ang Filipino na si Jan Labog sa Under-2000 standard category sa Asian Amateur Chess Championship sa Hong Kong Sabado.

Ang native ng Solano,Nueva Viscaya ay nagrehistro ng seven wins at two draws para kumita ng HK$12,000. Nakamit rin niya ang Candidate Masters title.

Tinalo ni Labog si Kyle Chen ng HongKong sa Round 1,kababayan na si Johnny Wellem Carzano (Round 2) at Arena Grand Master Almario Marlon Bernardino Jr. (Round 3), ), Kazakhstan FIDE Master Nurasyl Zhumabek (Round 4), Chinese Zhengcheng Liu (Round 5), Filipino Irwin Aton (Round 8), at Russian Egor Vlad Lovakov (Round 9). Nagtapos sa draw kay Chinese Wei Xu (Round 6) at Russian Mikhail Khmelev (Round 7).

Ang susunod ni Labog ay ang 4th Touchmove Invitational Open Rapid Chess sa Roxas City, Capiz sa Agosto 24.
