IMPEACHMENT, POLITICAL MANEUVER PARA SA 2028 — PDP

Inihayag ng Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP) na ang patuloy na pagtutulak na maalis si Vice President Sara Duterte sa posisyon ay lumilitaw na hindi totoong paghahanap ng pananagutan kungdi isang kalkuladong ‘political maneuver’ na nakatuon sa 2028.
Ayon kay PDP deputy spokesman Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, “the impeachment trial comes at a time when the Filipino people are burdened by rising costs, corruption scandals, weakening trust in institutions and urgent national concerns.”
Kasabay niyan, idinedeklara din umano ng PDP ang matibay at maprinsipyong oposisyon nito sa “politically-driven impeachment of VP Duterte.”
“We take note of public reports that certain organized sectors, including religious and civic communities, are considering long-term political consequences for public officials who support the impeachment,” ani Topacio.
Dagdag pa nito: “Whether or not these reports are formally confirmed, the message is clear: public office carries political accountability. Voters, communities, organizations and parties have every right to remember who stood where when democratic choice was under attack.”
Ayon kay Topacio, “PDP will take the same principled stand and those who vote for the impeachment of VP Sara cannot expect political refuge in PDP. They will not be allowed to cross over to the party. They will be blacklisted from running under the PDP banner. And where necessary, PDP will field and support a competitive candidate in their district. This is not a threat. This is political accountability.”
Aniya, ang isang political party ay may karapatan na pangalagaan ang mga prinsipyo, miyembro at mandato nito sa mga kinakatawan nito at ang PDP umano ay hindi kanglungan ng mga opisyal na lumalahok sa isang ‘partisan attempt to overturn the will of more than 32 million Filipinos who elected Vice President Sara Duterte.”
“The Filipino people are watching. The party is watching. History is watching. Those who choose political persecution must be prepared to face political consequences. PDP stands with constitutional order. PDP stands with the sovereign will of the people. PDP stands against the weaponization of impeachment for political elimination,” ani Topacio.
