P14.29-M HALAGA NG SHABU, NATAGPUAN NG BOC-NAIA NA NAKAHALO SA MGA LUBID

Mahigit 2,000 gramo ng shabu na nagkakahalaga ng P14 milyon ang kinumpiska ng Bureau of Customs – Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA) mula sa isang inbound parcel sa isang international cargo facility sa loob ng NAIA Complex.

Sa kanyang ulat, sinabi ni BOC-NAIA District Collector Yasmin Obillos-Mapa na ang nasabing shipment, na idineklara bilang “plastics and ropes” lamang, ay na-flag batay sa derogatory information mula sa Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Sa isinagawang pagsusuri, natagpuan ng awtoridad ang maraming lubid kung saan inihalo ang 2,102 gramo ng shabu na nagkakahalaga ng ?14,293,600.

Ayon kay Mapa, ang nasabing operation ay isinagawa kasama ang PDEA, NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, BOC – Customs Anti-Illegal Drugs Task Force, Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group, Airport Police Department, Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group at National Bureau of Investigation.

“Under the leadership of Mapa, the BOC-NAIA remains steadfast in supporting Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno’s mission to strengthen border security and prevent the entry of illegal drugs and other prohibited goods into the country through intensified enforcement and inter-agency cooperation,” ayon sa BOC.
