GAP tinanggap ang mga kinatawan sa junior world championships

MALUGOD na tinanggap ng Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) nitong Lunes ang mga gymnasts mula sa 74 na bansa patungong Maynila, bago ang kanilang paglahok sa 3rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics Junior World Championships.

Magsisimula ang world championship sa Manila Marriott Hotel Grand Ballroom sa loob ng Newport World Resorts sa Huwebes.

“We would like to welcome all our athletes, coaches and officials who are taking part in the world juniors and we are grateful for their enthusiastic response to our international competition,” Wika ni GAP President Cynthia Carrion.

Ayon kay Carrion, nagsimulang dumating sa bansa ang mga kalahok noong katapusan ng linggo.

Halos 750 atleta ang magtatagisan sa edisyon ng paligsahan ngayong 2025.

Ang Pilipinas ay pangungunahan ni Karl Eldrew Yulo, ang nakababatang kapatid ng two-time Olympic gold medalist na si Carlos, pati na rin ni Elizabeth Antone.

Nakuha ni Yulo ang silver sa men’s vault habang nakakuha naman si Antone ng bronze sa women’s all-around noong Asian Artistic Gymnastics Junior Championships sa Jecheon, South Korea nitong Hunyo.

“While Paris Olympians Carlos Yulo, Aleah Finnegan and Emma Malabuyo have already proven themselves on the world stage, we need to sustain their gains so this was one of our prime motivations to have the world juniors here,” Tugon ng GAP.
