Dolphy Encouraged Me to Try Comedy

The late comedian Dolphy is the one who had encouraged me to try comedy and I thanked him but at that time I still refused to appear on TV or film.
I interviewed Vandolph that time in the taping of ABS-CBN’s Home Along Da Riles and it was my first time to meet Dolphy (but I later interviewed him in his home in Marina Subdivision in Paranaque City).
In real life Dolphy was serious. During off cam, he often sat in a corner alone.
I told Dolphy I am an introvert, shy. I prefer writing than talking. He just nodded his head and smiled. He respected my decision, but I could not forget what he said in a parking lot of ABS-CBN: “May talent ka, gamitin mo.”
