Impeachment Court, ipinag-utos ang pagsusumite ng bank records ni VP Sara at mister

INAPRUBAHAN ng Senate impeachment court ang kahilingan ng House prosecution panel na magpalabas ng subpoena para sa bank records at mga rekord mula sa Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) ni Vice President Sara Duterte at ng kanyang mister na si Mans Carpio.

Binasa ni Senate impeachment court Presiding Officer Senator-Judge Francis “Chiz” Escudero ang desisyon sa ikapitong araw ng impeachment trial laban kay Duterte.

“To summarize, the court rules as follows: The request for subpoenas directed to the concerned banking institutions, covering the accounts of the respondent, Atty. Maneses Carpio, separately or jointly, the partnership of Carpio Lawyers, and the 19 listed corporate entities is granted,” pahayag ni Senate impeachment court presiding officer Senator-Judge Francis “Chiz” Escudero.

“The banks are ordered to submit to the Clerk of Court the documents on July 30, 2026 at 9 a.m. with the attendance of parties and counsels,” wika niya.

Ayon kay Escudero, matapos ang masusing pagsusuri, natukoy ng korte na ang mga hinihinging dokumento ay “reasonably described, readily identifiable, at prima facie relevant and material” sa mga alegasyong nakapaloob sa Article 2 ng Articles of Impeachment.

“After a careful examination requested, the Court finds that the requested documents meet the requirements set forth above. They are reasonably described, readily identifiable, prima facie relevant and material to the allegations under Article 2.”

Idinagdag pa niya na hindi ito ang unang pagkakataon na sinuri ang bank records sa isang impeachment trial, at binanggit bilang halimbawa ang impeachment case ng dating Chief Justice Renato Corona.

Bukod dito, pinaboran din ng impeachment court ang hiwalay na mosyon ng prosecution na humihiling ng subpoena para sa mga kaugnay na tax records ng Bise Presidente. (Mylene Alfonso)
