BI binalaan ang publiko sa mga nag-aalok ng immigration services sa social media

NAGBIGAY ng babala si Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Norman Tansingco sa publiko kontra sa mga scammers na nag-aalok ng immigration services sa social media.

Ito’y matapos na humarap sa Senate Public Order and Dangerous Drugs Committee hearing si Movement for Restoration of Peace and Order (MRPO) Chairperson Ka Kuen Chua na may mga nag-aalok sa social media ng tulong para matanggal ang pangalan sa immigration blacklists kapalit ng P1M hanggang P5M.

“We have observed that this scam proliferates not only on Facebook, but also in other messaging platforms such as WeChat,” sabi ni Tansingco.

“There are even some accounts that pretend to be immigration lawyers and legal officers. They create profiles using photos of our employees, their badges, or even the logo of the Bureau,” ibinahagi pa nito.

Buwan ng September nitong nakaraang taon nang magpalabas ng parehong babala ang BI dahil sa ulat na may mga pekeng kawani na nag-aalok ng mga illegal services sa social media.

“This is a recurring scam that pops up every now and then,” ayon kay Tansingco.

“We warn the public not to engage with these scammers. Remain keen to avoid being victimized,” dagdag pa nito.

Pinayuhan ni Tansingco ang publiko na agad na i-report ang online scams sa Bureau of Immigration at iba pang law enforcement agencies.

Samantala, ang Bureau of Immigration ay kasalukuyang nagsasagawa ng annual report para sa registered foreign nationals sa bansa.
