Noon ay pila pa ang baseball fans sa takilya kaya ang stadium ay filled to the rafters upang saksihan ang mga exciting na bakbakan sa diamond sa sport na sikat pa rin at numero unong pastime hangga ngayon sa USA, Japan atbp.

Hanggang sa napabayaang maovertake ng sport na basketball ang thinking game na baseball dahil na rin sa marketing strategy at pagpapaputok sa masa ng tri- media.

Ang mga coliseum na ang puno. Pumutok din ang Azkals sa football at ngayon ang volleyball naman ang dinadagsa ng fans.

Kaya naisip nina Anando ‘Wopsy Zamora, Pepe Munoz ay Boy Tingzon katuwang ang iba pang baseball stake holders sa bansa.

Itinatag nila ang Liga Baseball Philippines na isang commercial na ligang magiging instrumental sa pagbangon ng sport at pagbabalik-glorya ng baseball sa bansa.

Great move .kung nakaya ng football at volleyball at pag nagkaisa at kapartner ang media sapul ang tagumpay,mas kaya ng baseball. A swing and a hit…homerun!..

LBP:COLLEGIATE TEAMS UNFAZE TO FACE COMMERCIAL BASEBALL SQUADS
PREDATORS of National University, Ateneo de Manila University and University of Santo Tomas are all but ready to face big challenge against vaunted commercial and club teams they will compete in the inaugural conference of Liga Baseball Philippines ( LBP) that will hit the diamond on May 26 at the historical Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium in Malate , Manila.

Collegiate champions Bulldogs of NU, Glowing Tigers of UST and Ateneo Blue Eagles are raring to roar and fly high to victory against much experienced, veterans and battle-tested batters of commercial and club teams like PK Holdings Thunderz, Dumaguete, KBA Stars, IPPC and Samurai to slug it out for the first ever and historic crown of the LBP ‘Tingzon Cup’.

” We levelled up the playing field.All teams are contenders for the title. Baseball at it’s best in LBP”, league chairman Anando Zamora said.

LBP president Jose Antonio Munoz proudly announced ” Make way ,baseball is definitely back!

Rodolfo ‘Boy’ Tingzon, Jr., the league’s Executive Director is inviting all baseball enthusiasts to witness the grand opening ceremony of the festive LBP Tingzon Cup – titular named after his great father in baseball leadership the legendary Rodolfo Tingzon, Sr.

Other officials who contributed for establishing the first ever commercial baseball league in the country are Directors Joaquin Loyzaga,Rene Andrei Saguisag,Jude Torcuato,Felipe Remollo,Jose Emmanuel Eala,Josedinno Mariano,Raymond Tolentino, Michael Zialcita and Anthony Suntay.Mariano Arroyo is the Executive Administrator and the Corporate Secretary is Jullie Anne Yabes.
