Money trail na nag-uugnay kay Chiz sa flood control anomaly natagpuan – Ombudsman Remulla

INIHAYAG ni Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla na natagpuan ng kanyang tanggapan ang money trail na nag-uugnay kay Senador Francis “Chiz” Escudero sa iskandalo sa flood control.

“We have statements of a money trail leading to him, narrations of fact that are there already…but of course, we want to buttress it with other evidence which we’re looking at right now,” pahayag ni Remulla.

Ayon pa kay Remulla, maaaring managot si Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez sa gross negligence kaugnay ng mga aksyon ni dating Appropriations panel chair Zaldy Co, na may kasong kriminal dahil sa anomalya sa P289 milyong flood control project sa Oriental Mindoro.

“Leadership principle ‘yan eh. The buck stops with you,” dagdag niya.

Inanunsyo rin ni Remulla ang pagtatayo ng task force upang imbestigahan ang flood control projects na nakinabang sa mga ari-arian ng dating senador Manny Villar at pamilya nito. “We will form a Task Force just for the Villars…Who paid for that? Is it the government or them? We’ll know when we look at the cost of the project,” ani Remulla.

Matatandaang, mariing itinanggi nina Escudero at Romualdez ang mga paratang. Sinabi ni Escudero na isasampa niya ang kaso laban kay Bernardo dahil sa “malicious allegations and innuendos,” habang tinawag ni Romualdez ang akusasyon na “clearly political and the product of coaching.”
