EJ Obiena, Tolentino pamumunuan ang PH team sa World Athletics Indoor Championships

PAMUMUNUAN ng Olimpiyano na sina EJ Obiena at John Cabang Tolentino ang koponang Pilipino na makikipagkumpetensya sa 2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships sa Poland mula Marso 20 hanggang 22.

Ipinahayag ng bituin sa pole vault na si Obiena ang kanyang kasiyahan sa social media tungkol sa kanyang kwalipikasyon para sa indoor championships.

“Last year I missed, didn’t make the cut, grade or whatever is synonymous with ‘failing to qualify.’ That was a tough shake. I said I would bounce back time and time again but it didn’t exactly work out that outdoor season,” Sulat ni Obiena.

“Still today, it doesn’t feel like I’m anywhere near where I want to be or believe I can be. Making this World Indoors championship, one of the twelve vaulters, is a small step on a long road back. Brick by brick, inch by inch we build — and if I must crawl, so be it.”

Samantala,si Cabang Tolentino,ay makikipagkompetensya sa 60-meter hurdles, ayon sa Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association.

Kasama rin sa kwalipikadong miyembro ng koponang Pilipino sina Jessica Laurance at Zion Corrales Nelson, na parehong makikipagkompetensya sa 60-meter dash.
