‘Coup plotters’ at ‘Third Force’ fake news – AFP

MARIING pinabulaanan ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ang kumakalat na social media posts na nagsasabing mayroong “coup plotters” at tinatawag na “Third Force”.
Sa isang kalatas, sinabi ni AFP Public Affairs Office chief Colonel Xerxes Tri-nidad na ang military organization “does not dignify unvalidated social media posts.”
“The AFP remains focused on its constitutional mandate and the faithful performance of its duty as protector of the people and the State,” ayon kay Trinidad.
Inihayag ito ni Trinidad nang uriratin ukol sa social media posts na nag-u-ugnay sa mahigpit na seguridad sa Malacañang Palace sa mga grupong diumano’y nagsisi-mula nang kumilos para patalsikin ang gobyerno.
“At a time when our nation must remain united in addressing the possible effects of the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, we call on all Filipinos to exercise sobriety, reject disinformation, and refrain from spreading unverified claims that may cause confusion and division,” ang winika ni Trinidad.
“The AFP is a professional organization that upholds the Constitution, respects the chain of command, and remains steadfast in its duty to defend Philippine sovereignty, protect the people, and uphold the rule of law,” diin ng opisyal.
