What do the People have to say this time?

GMA Network’s newest original Pinoy game show, The People Have Spoken, offers a fresh twist on entertainment by celebrating the voices behind the answers.

Led by the hosts, Heart Evangelista and Sean Lucas, together with the star-studded celebrity players, the witty Celebripeeps, and the audience, a.k.a. the People, everyone in the studio gets to engage in the action as they initiate thought-provoking conversations during the game.

Celebripeeps Janeena Chan, Tim Yap, Joy Barcoma, and Baus Rufo share why fellow celebrities should voice their opinions on relevant social issues while remaining respectful of other people’s hot takes.

Janeena realizes that her personal opinions must leave a positive influence, “Kailangan kong magkaroon ng sarili kong stand in life. Important nga talaga to have your own opinions and be firm about it. Hindi naman kailangan same lagi ‘yung answer or ‘yung opinion, basta you know, manatiling healthy ‘yung conversation.”

Tim also highlights how the show provides a platform for open-minded discussions that consist of differing opinions, “Sa panahon ngayon hindi na siya right or wrong. It’s right or left. Iba-iba ang opinyon, kaya dapat magrespetuhan tayo. Ang The People Have Spoken ay isang platform para magkarinigan tayo at maintindihan ang isa’t isa.”

Meanwhile, Joy underscores that being both a content creator and a Celebripeep is a form of expression, “It gives me another perspective. When you do content, malaya ka sa paggawa ng mga bagay that you think a lot of people can relate to. As a Celebripeep, you speak for yourself and for the experiences of other people, as well.”

For Baus, it’s important to keep the balance between being comedic and opinionated. “I always try to find the joy or the comedic angle in a particular topic na medyo seryoso. So, nakakatuwa na ‘yun ‘yung role ko, na gagaan ‘yung pakiramdam ng mga tao sa issues o mga tanong na baka minsan medyo naloloka na tayo kakaisip sa kanila.”

The high-energy game show is an engaging, helpful platform that allows artists, in the form of Celebripeeps or celebrity players, to be outspoken and proactively engaged in discussing relevant social issues while keeping the audience’s energy alive.

Catch The People Have Spoken every Saturday at 6:15 p.m. on GMA-7 and Kapuso Stream. Global Pinoys can also watch the program via GMA Pinoy TV. Full episodes are available at the YouLOL YouTube channel.
