AMERICAN FUGITIVE, DINAKIP NG BI-FSU SA CEBU

INARESTO ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang isang American national sa Cebu na wanted sa US authorities dahil sa sex offense charge sa Mississippi.

Si John Raymond Fenty, 62, ay hinuli sa Barangay Buaya, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, ng mga operatiba nge BI’s Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) sa pamumuno ni Rendel Ryan Sy.

Ayon kay Sy, si Fenty ay dinakip sa hiling ng US government sa pamamagitan ng US Embassy sa Manila, na siyang nagsabi sa Philippine authorities na ito ay nasa bansa.

“The Embassy’s criminal investigation unit informed the BI that Fenty is wanted to stand trial before a justice court in Kemper County, Mississippi, where he was charged with sexual battery against a mentally defective, mentally incapacitated, or physically helpless person,” ani Sy.

Iniulat din ng FSU na si Fenty ay huling dumating sa bansa bilang tourist noong July 21, 2026 at nag-apply ng extension ng kanyang authorized stay hanggang November 18, 2026.

Ayon naman kay BI deputy spokesman Melvin Mabulac, si Fenty ay isasama sa BI blacklist at di na papayagang makapasok ng bansa dahil sa ‘undesirability’.

“Fenty was temporarily detained at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) office in Mandaue City pending his transfer to the BI Warden’s Facility in Bicutan, Taguig City,” dagdag pa ni Mabulac. (JERRY S. TAN)
