Ma. Merceditas Gutierrez na dinaluhan ng mga kasapi mula sa senior citizens organizations (SCOs), federations, Offices for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCAs), local government units (LGUs), civil society organizations, development partners at online participants nationwide.

“This bill proposes to increase the utility discount from 5% to 15%, raise the consumption thresholds to 200 kWh for electricity and 50 cubic meters for water, and refine the application of the electricity discount by ensuring it applies to 5 incremental usage above the lifeline rate within the allowable consumption cap, while maintaining safeguards on eligibility and residency,” paliwanag ni Cong. Ordanes.

“Senior citizens are also entitled to free medical, dental, and laboratory services in government hospitals and health facilities, helping ensure that essential healthcare remains accessible and affordable, saad pa ni Cong. Ordanes.

“Together with preventive health programs and priority treatment in healthcare facilities, these provisions have strengthened our commitment to healthy and active aging,” dagdag pa ni Cong. Ordanes.
