Target ng Senado: Impeachment trial ni VP Sara, tapos bago matapos ang taon

POSITIBO si Senate impeachment court Presiding Officer Francis Escudero na matatapos bago matapos ang taong 2026 ang impeachment trial ni Vice President Sara Duterte.

Sa ika-18 araw ng paglilitis, humingi si Senator-Judge Juan Miguel Zubiri ng updated timeline ng proceedings dahil magsisimula na rin ang pagdinig sa panukalang 2027 national budget.

“We just like to be guided accordingly. Once the budget starts being discussed, all departments will be coming here Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Siguro aabot tayo ng Saturday. So wala nang pahinga na ‘yung mga staff natin,” ani Zubiri.

Sinabi ni Escudero na maglalabas ang impeachment court ng mas malinaw na iskedyul kapag natapos na ang calendar ng budget deliberations.

“In broad strokes, the presiding officer is optimistic and hopeful that we will complete these proceedings before the end of the year,” diin ni Escudero.

Nauna nang iminungkahi ni Zubiri na idaos ang sesyon ng Senado sa umaga at ang impeachment trial simula alas-3:00 ng hapon upang mapabilis ang pag-usad ng paglilitis. (Mylene Alfonso)
