BERNOS LAUDS PNP’S HIGH TRUST, PERFORMANCE RATINGS FOR Q2

This was the message of House public order and safety committee Vice Chair and Abra lone district Rep. JB Bernos to the Philippine National Police as he lauded the ok institution for remaining one of the country’s most-trusted and best-performing government institutions.

The latest Tugon ng Masa survey by Octa Research showed the PNP obtained a 65 percent trust rating and a 63 percent performance rating for the second quarter.

The nationwide survey was conducted July 4 to 11 through face-to-face interviews of 1,200 respondents aged 18 and above.

“I hope the high trust and performance rating of our people will spur the PNP to continue working for the public welfare. Mahalaga po ang trabaho ninyo sa pagpapanatili ng kaayusan at kaligtasan sa ating bansa, kaya sana’y ipagpatuloy ninyo ang maganda at maayos na serbisyo,” Bernos said.

The lawmaker expressed hope that the PNP would repay the public’s trust and approval with concrete measures to minimize criminality and ensure public order in the country.

He underlined the need for greater police visibility and prompt response to incidents in reassuring citizens of their safety.

He also encouraged the police to continue working with local governments and communities to address gaps in law enforcement.

The solon also called on the PNP’s leadership to continue efforts to weed out “bad seeds” within its ranks.

“Bad and abusive cops instill fear in the people and stain the PNP’s reputation. Thus, it is important that the PNP take strong steps against such cops to reassure the people that it does not condone malpractice and abuse.”
