“Our honored guest today is in fact one of the first to bring help to our people. His presence brought reassurance to many of us that we are not alone,” ani Romualdez.
“And throughout the years, he has been with us, not only in remembrance of our loss but in keeping alive the lessons we learned in that tragic moment so we could ensure it won’t happen again,” dagdag pa ng house speaker.
Nagpahayag naman si Tingog Party-list Rep. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez ng kanyang saloobin sa paggunita ng Super Typhoon Yolanda, “the 8th of November 2022, marks the 9th anniversary of Super Typhoon Yolanda. One of the most powerful tropical storms ever recorded that devastated several areas of Eastern Visayas.”
“We commemorate this day by honoring the many who perished and by remembering the heroes that bravely stepped in to take action, responding to the calls for help and extended their unwavering service during the aftermath of the storm,” pahayag pa ng Mambabatas .
A wreath laying was conducted to honor the memories of those who perished in Yolanda nine years ago, and to recognize the valiant efforts of rescue workers who helped rescue and rebuild areas battered by the typhoon.
“It is with great pleasure to see every one of you here today as we commemorate together that fateful day, nine years ago, when Typhoon Yolanda wreaked havoc on our land and claimed the lives and properties of many of our people,” pahayag pa ni Romualdez.
“It was the worst day ever for Tacloban. But it brought out the best in many of our fellow Filipinos and foreigners alike, who went out of their way to bring aid and console us in our time of grief,” ani pa ng Mambabatas.
Samantala matapos maipakilala ang Pangulong BBM ay nagbigay naman ito ng maikling mensahe sa mga mamamayan ng Tacloban at sa iba pang bisitang government officials partikular ang mga LGU sa lugar
“Whatever resilience we have today, we owe it to the lessons of Yolanda. And this resilience is borne in part by the sacrifices of our first responders, our unity in the face of adversity, and our propensity for compassion toward our fellow citizens in times of calamities,” ayon pa sa house speaker.
Yolanda has been dubbed as a Category 5 typhoon and remains one of the most powerful tropical cyclones ever recorded.
“While it is very difficult to forget the horrors we faced during Yolanda, the important thing is we learned from this harrowing experience. And if we learned from this tragedy, we continue to honor those who perished and those who willingly sacrificed their lives for the benefit of others,” ani pa ni Romualdez. (Cesar Barquilla)
