VP Sara sumagot na sa summons ng Senate court, impeachment ipinababasura

PORMAL na hiniling ni Vice President Sara Duterte sa Senate impeachment court na ibasura ang verified impeachment complaint na inihain laban sa kanya dahil sa pagiging ilegal nito kasunod ng paglabag nito sa one year ban sa konstitusyon.

Sa araw mismo ng deadline, isinumite dakong 5:49 ng hapon ng messenger mula sa law firm na Fortun, Narvasa & Salazar sa opisina ni Senate Secretary Atty. Renato Bantug na tumatayong clerk of court ang nasabing sagot ni Duterte sa summon ng Korte.

Base sa sagot na inihain ni VP Sara, na may nakasulat na answer ad cautelam (na may pag-iingat) bilang pagsunod sa utos ng Senate impeachment court kung saan tinutukoy nito sa probisyon ng 1987 Constitution na isang impeachment complaint lamang ang isasampa laban sa isang impeachable official bawat taon.

“Vice President Sara Z. Duterte, by counsel, without waiving any jurisdictional and/or other objections she has to this case and the Fourth Impeachment Complaint, respectfully states: the fourth impeachment complaint must be dismissed because it is void ab initio for violating the One-Year Bar Rule under Section 3 (5) Article XI of the 1987 Constitution,” nakasaad sa dokumento.

Nauna nang natanggap ng House of Representatives ang kopya ng tugon ni Duterte sa impeachment complaint alas-3:53 ng hapon, na kinumpirma naman ni House spokesperson Atty. Prinsesa Abante. (Mylene Alfonso)
