SI Lani Montreal, dating kasamahan ko sa Philippine Daily Inquirer (boss namin noon si PDI editor in chief Letty Jimenez Magsanoc), ay nakabase ngayon sa Chicago, Illinois, USA. Siya ay anak ni Mely Tagasa at kapatid ni Gina Marissa Tagasa (sikat na manunulat ng Maalaala Mo Kaya ng ABS-CBN).

Wika niya sa kanyang Facebook post: “I saw my mom’s star at Eastwood Mall’s Walk of Fame while she was in a coma at the hospital in March 2018. She got it the year before with much fanfare, my handsome nephew walking her down the red carpet to receive it. She was 82.”

Dagdag pa ni Lani, “I’m glad they didn’t wait too long, and that she didn’t miss this moment— to see her name engraved in a golden star now embedded in cement. Not Miss Tapia’s name but hers. Mely Tagasa. The name she made for herself.”

Si Mely Tagasa, o Abimaela Palomo Tagasa, ay isang Filipino actress, screenwriter at dubbing producer. Sumikat siya sa role bilang Miss Tapia sa sitcoms Baltic & Co. (GMA) at Iskul Bukol (IBC).

Sa darating na Agosto 8-10, 2025, masasaksihan si Lani sa “Anak ni Tapia: Leaving Mother at Potrero Stage in San Francisco” sa Bay Area sa California bilang bahagi ng Playground SF’s Free Play Festival.
