IPALALABAS na bukas, August 13 sa mga sinehan ang “Sa Likod NG Tsapa: The Colonel Hansel Marantan Story”.

Ano ang matututunan ng ordinaryong tao kapag napanood ang kuwento niya?

“Matututunan niyo na maraming struggles pala ang pagiging law enforcer,” umpisang sambit ni Col. Marantan.

“Hindi lang yung nakikita mo diyan, hindi pala ganun. Maraming sakripisyo, not only him but the family also.

“’Pag nagsakripisyo yung isang pulis, magsa-sacrifice yung family. Gaya ng sinabi ko kanina, maraming sacrifices diyan to solve cases and to save you.

“That’s all. Iyon yung moral lesson diyan. Policemen wanted to do more but please understand the situation and please, the state should do something about it or solve mga lackings into it.

“Huwag niyo namang pabayaan yung mga law enforcers natin, kasi pag pinabayaan niyo yan baka hindi na aggressive yan. They will just stay there for the salary, but not for the services, ‘Bakit pa ako magseserbisyo diyan, e I receive the same salary also?’

“We do not want that thing to happen.”

Ano ang mensahe ni Col. Marantan sa bagong PNP Chief na si PGeneral Nicolas Torre III?

“You’re referring to General Torre, ‘no? The word by itself is Torre ha, that’s a firm one. You cannot be Torre na weak ka.

“So the embodiment of his name is obvious naman. I know his character and he knows my character also.

“Alam niya at alam ko rin na hindi rin kami nang-iiwan ng mga tao namin, na when things go worse, then that’s the only thing… if that’s a thing to happen, then we suffer the consequence of what we did.

“Hindi naman tayo… siya, hindi yan umaatras sa mga consequences of his action. In the same manner na ganoon din siguro ako.

“I think I have proven it already. Nakulong naman din ako, I have suffered, I went through the process, I went through the mill. Masakit yung proseso na sinunod ko. “Maraming nagsasabi, ‘E si Marantan, palakasan, ganun, ganyan’, kaya nakalaya, nababasa ko e.

“Mga kababayan, I went through the process. It’s a bitter pill to swallow but I took it, kinain ko, I chewed it. “Nagpakulong ako at nakalaya naman ho ako sa awa ng Diyos. Ganoon din si General Torre. Yung mga bashing sa kanya na negative, he chewed it all.

“A bitter pill to swallow also, he chewed it all, but look at him now, he’s the Chief PNP.”

Samantala, hindi lang daw para sa mga pulis ang docu-film niya.

“Hindi lang naman para sa pulis ang documentary, makikita rin siya ng general audience, ano yung mensahe na madaling maintindihan ng tao ang gusto natin maiparating gamit ang documentary na ito?

“Sa law enforcement side, there’s a struggle. May struggle lagi sa pagiging law enforcer, lalo na kung nasa operation siya, operatiba ka. Kasi hindi lahat ng…lalo na if you’re into a task force, hindi…you will be asked to solve problems that can’t be done by local policemen.”

“Kaya nga ipinasok yung task force e, kasi hindi na kaya ng pulis trapiko.”
