Articles of impeachment vs VP Sara, aprub sa House committee on justice

Inaprubahan ng House Committee on Justice ang report nito na nagrerekomenda sa plenaryo ng Kamara de Representantes na i-impeach si Vice President Sara Duterte at ipadala ang Articles of Impeachment sa Senado na siyang magsasagawa ng paglilitis.
Sa pagdinig nitong Lunes ng umaga, naghain ng mosyon si House Deputy Speaker at Quezon Rep. David Suarez na aprubahan ang report matapos ang mga pag-amyenda rito.
“In so far as we have acted on all the proposed amendments of our colleagues, again, I move for the approval of the committee, the attached resolution, setting forth the Articles of Impeachment against the Vice President Sara Z. Duterte as amended, so move madam chair,” sabi ni Suarez.
Sumegunda naman sa mosyon si Akbayan party-list Rep. Perci Cendaña.
Walang narinig na objection ang chairperson ng komite na si Batangas Rep. Gerville Luistro kaya nangangahulugan umano na unanimous ang pag-apruba sa mosyon.
“But then again for purposes of accuracy of the records may I request the Justice members present to raise their hand to show support for the approval of the committee report, the attached resolution setting forth the Articles of Impeachment as amended,” sabi ni Luistro.
Matapos ang bilangan, sinabi ni Luistro na lahat ng 55 miyembro at ex-official member ng komite ay bumoto pabor sa report.
Ang report ay ipadadala sa plenaryo, na siyang magtatakda kung kailan ito tatalakayin.
Kailangan ng one-third ng kabuuang bilang ng mga miyembro ng Kamara o 106 sa 318 kongresista ang kailangan upang maipadala ang Articles of Impeachment sa Senado.(Henry Padilla)
