SMUGGLER HINATULAN MAKULONG NG MANILA COURT

HINATULAN ng korte sa Maynila ang isang importer sa ‘misdeclaration of shipment’ noong 2020, ayon sa Bureau of Customs (BOC).

Sinabi ng BOC, napatunayan ng Manila Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 24 na ‘guilty’ si Divina Bisco Aguilar, ang proprietor ng Real Mart, sa maling pagdeklara ng shipment ng carrots bilang frozen pastry buns tatlong taon na ang nakakaraan.

“The accused has been sentenced to a prison term of three years and one day to four years,” sabi ng BOC.



Ang kaso ay nag-ugat June 26, 2020 nang isang shipment na naka-consign sa Real Mart ay dumating sa BOC-Port of Manila mula Singapore. Ang consignee, pag-aari ni Aguilar, ay nakadeklarang shipment na naglalaman ng 2,500 cartons ng frozen pastry buns. Pero nang i-inspection, natuklasang ito’y shipment ng carrots.

“Subsequently, a warrant of seizure and detention was issued against the shipment, and appropriate charges were filed against the owner of Real Mart,” sabi ng BoC.



Samantala, sinampahan narin ng kasong agricultural smuggling ang apat na “smugglers” ng sinalakay na warehouse ng bigas nitong nakaraang linggo sa Bulacan, sabi ng BoC.
