Annette Gozon-Valdes.
This was followed by the Talkback session of Broken Hearts Trip with Christian Bables, and then Kampon with Beauty Gonzalez and Atty. Joji Alonso.
Nagkaroon din ng isang special session tungkol sa Screen Actors Guild that was hosted by Giselle Tongi with a lot of Fil-Am actors in tow like Jonjon Briones,
Dante Basco, Vince Rodriguez III, with our counterparts Enchong Dee, John Arcilla, and Boots Anson Roa-Rodrigo.
The day was finished with a birthday greeting for Tita Boots at nang pagdating ni Papa Boyet de Leon (When I Met You In Tokyo) at ni Cedrick Juan (GomBurZa).
Matatandaang nag-coverage ang Hollywood correspondent na si Bradford Adkins sa 49th MMFF Parade of Stars noong Disyembre 16 sa CaMaNaVa, maging sa Gabi ng Parangal noong Disyembre 27 that was held at the New Frontier Theater in Cubao, Quezon City.
Pagkukwento ni Bradford via Messenger last February Pebrero 1, Thursday ng madaling-araw (Manila time), “According to reports kagabi, SOLD OUT na ang Clo-
sing Night & Awards Gala scheduled on Friday, February 2 at the Directors’ Guild of America (DGA) Theater sa Beverly Hills, CA. Mahigpit daw kasi $275 per
person ang ticket.
“The 6 Jurors met some of the actors last night at the VIP Lounge located at the TCL Chinese Mann Theaters located right smack in the middle of Hollywood
tourist area.
“I am predicting major wins for Rewind, GomBurZa, When I Met You In Tokyo, Broken Hearts Trip (yes, popular yung bucket list tourist destinations ng movie sa Fil-Ams!), and Firefly.”
When I Met You In Tokyo featuring Vilma Santos and Christopher de Leon.
“I have been hearing consistently good comments sa mga nakapanood na here na mostly ‘aging’ Vilmanians.
“Di ba, the beautiful movie is about aging? Relate ang karamihang Pinoy here sa California because mostly are aging caregivers and home health and hospice business owners and employees that cater with the aging population of the USA.
“They super-loved the latest movie ni Ate Vi.
“It’s not to demean or belittle the popularity ng Rewind, Firefly, at GomBurZa.”
Ang best picture ng MMFF ay Firefly. Second best picture ang GomBurZa, third best picture ang Mallari, at fourth best picture ang When I Met You In Tokyo.
Nanalong best actress si Vilma Santos for When I Met You In Tokyo, at best actor si Cedrick Juan for GomBurZa.
Miles Ocampo was chosen as best supporting actress for Family of Two (A Mother and Son Story), and JC Santos was best supporting actor for Mallari.
Pepe Diokno was best director for GomBurZa. Angeli Atienza won the best screenplay for Firefly, while Carlo Canlas Mendoza was chosen as best cinematography for GomBurZa.
Out of the six MMFF 2023 best actress nominees, dalawa lang ang nasa U.S. and they are Eugene Domingo and Beauty Gonzalez. Wala sina Vilma Santos, Marian Rivera, Sharon Cuneta, at Pokwang.
Wala sina JC Santos, Epy Quizon,
Tommy Alejandrino, Pepe Herrera, Dante Rivero, at Romnick Sarmenta.
In absentia sina Miles Ocampo, Alessandra de Rossi, Gloria Diaz, at Agot Isidro.
Why not the winners as well?

Erick Valena, full of promise!
NAPAKA-positive ng dating nitong si Erick Valena. Aside from being a topnotch fashion designer, this guy is also a former voice and piano teacher at Weinstein, Yamaha, tri World Piano International.
Quite an achievement but never did he flaunt about it.
Tahimik lang siya palagi and perpetually a man of few words.
Never mo siyang maririnig na purihin ang kanyang sarili o magsalita ng kanyang achievements or accoplishments.
What a good guy he truly is!
Nice meeting you Erick. I hope to get to know you better as we move along!
